Sugar Lounge: A Sweet Recap

We don’t know about you, but we are all still recovering from our sugar high at Saturday night’s Sugar Lounge. From the donut wall to the assortment of mouth-watering French Macarons, Sugar Lounge had something to tickle everyone’s taste buds.

Walking into the dimly-lit runway at The Rosewall, we were immediately submerged into a lounge of indulgence. The cool, acoustic sounds of the live band set us in the sultry Valentine’s mood. Everywhere we turned, there was a table dedicated to life’s sweetest desserts—chocolate strawberries from Virago’s Chef Andrew Whitney over here, heart-shaped donuts by DOH Nashville over there. Our eyes were constantly filled with visions of sugar, and our mouths never stopped watering.

Macarons, cake, and candy, oh my! The renowned M Street chefs took a walk on the sweet side to come up with the most mouth-watering, bite-sized treats. The assortment of flavors was extraordinary. There was something there to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth.

Try a macaron, a cheecake bite, or some chocolate cake. Or, try them all!

After taking the last sips of our bubbly, we couldn’t resist one of the hand-crafted strawberry cheesecake martinis from the bar. Looking up, we saw the most incredible candy chandelier adorned with bubble gum, rock candy, and lollipops floating over the bar.

And don’t forget the Tito’s ice luge... Vodka never tasted as good as it did inside of a jolly rancher shotglass!

Saturday night was filled with sugar, spice, and everything nice. From the black and white movies playing Audrey Hepburn’s classic hits to the smell of Coco Scrub’s homemade lavender vanilla sugar scrub, Sugar Lounge tapped into all five senses. For the last minute shoppers, KITTY and NASH Boutiques provided high end gifts, sure to get you on her good side. The cool, sensual atmosphere set the mood for a perfect Valentine’s Day weekend, and we all left a little sweeter than when we first walked in.
